this was written for the second big company of elegies … which performed at the rapp arts center in the east village in 1990 … having just directed the show at the boston conservatory of music with an amazing cast of students, faculty, alumni and staff, i looked this up and felt it captures many of the same emotions i felt doing the show again…
bill russell and janet hood will be putting together a production of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens for the boston conservatory of music with students and faculty on april 25, 26 and 27. there will be a total of 4 performances: 3 evening shows at 8:00 pm and a matinee on saturday at 2:00 pm.

TheatreWorks of Palo Alto, CA, will produce the world premiere of Kept in April of this year. The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded $30,000 to TheatreWorks to support the development and production of this new musical with music by Henry Krieger, book by Stephen Chbosky and Bill Russell, and lyrics by Bill Russell, directed by Scott Schwartz.
